Sub-option TOO-CLOSE

The TOO-CLOSE option allows automatic inspection of the area within the active polygon for pairs of nodes which are too close to one another. Invoking this option brings up an information panel on the right which shows the measure of closeness used. Distance between nodes is calculated as (distance in x-direction + distance in y-direction). The default test distance is the current value of the cursor sensitivity range. A box is displayed at the top right corner of the main display panel showing graphically the current value of the range being used in this test. The test is initiated by Picking TEST CLOSENESS in the right-hand panel. The number of pairs of nodes found to be too close together is displayed and the nodes involved are indicated by square markers. The DISPLAY and editing options in the panel facilitate immediate corrective steps.
